Bali conference on Asia-Pacific’s Internet network

An international conference on Internet network will be held in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, from February 21 to March 2 at Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia.

Apart from discussing about the following the broken under-sea optical cable network after an eartquake occured in Taiwan by the end of last year, the forum is also discussing on how to provide cheap Internet access, especially in Indonesia.

Yes, the last one is very urgent and significant to solve in order to make Indonesian people can easily to access Internet.

Internet service providers as well as telecommunication players in Indonesia and Asia-Pacific countries are now seeking solutions in terms of a dependable Internet network.

This is being discussed at the Asia-Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies forum that runs from February 21 to March 2 at Nusa Dua, Bali.

The forum will be the first that to held in Indonesia following previous ones being held in other Asia-Pacific countries.

The Association of Internet Service Providers in Indonesia is hosting the conference.

Sylvia W. Sumarlin, Head of the Association of Internet Service Providers of Indonesia, explained that, following the broken under-sea optical cable network after an earthquake occurred in Taiwan by the end of last year, Internet service providers are discussing the possibilities of utilizing other networks apart from of under-sea optical cables.

“However, the selection of the network will be fully handed over to the providers of Internet services,” said Sylvia in Nusa Dua to Tempo.

APRICOT 2008 will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, from February 20th to 29th and hosted by TWNIC, the Taiwan Network Information Center.
